Wonder how long we'll be waiting for a translation, I'm fairly excited about this, especially if it sells well and we get arachno-girls and the like in a continuing series.
About time we got a decent monster girl eroge, one that doesn't require you to grind forever before you can defeat enemies and get a sex scene.

Lamia are cute, but not totally my thing. I think it might have served them better to have created an ensemble game where you have a selection of monster girls to choose from, probably a better way to gain interest in a possible series.
Lamia aren't my bag either but I'm happy with monster girls getting any attention in the form of a VN.
As for a larger game, Vanadis is no doubt constrained by time and money. I doubt they can afford to give the player a harem of monster girls having made only one other eroge, 碧眼の双騎士フェリルとリリカ.
Lamia are pretty popular in the world of niche fetishes though, chances are they'll make enough money to produce a second game. Either one about slime girls, which again are pretty popular, or one that includes several.

Slime girls would make an excellent game. I'm surprised there aren't more Monster girl eroge though, seeing as how it's relatively simple to create that type of game. Anyone got an idea on possible fan-made monster girl eroges?

I surprise myself by realizing that I have never given the idea any thought, at all. It's the kind of thing I'd be interested in waylaying my apathy and writing for too.
There's a range possible approaches to such an eroge, not least in terms of setting. You could take it less seriously and more light hearted including all the established types of monster girls, conveniently being in a position to chose from a selection of them and just string along the sex scenes. Or you might chose to take a more serious approach to sexing up monster girls, use less conventional girls, focusing on the relationship between the girl and the protagonist, maybe including some honest storyline and dilemma that must be overcome. Or keeping to the theme of guro you could have a kinetic novel De Sade's Justine-esque romp through a catalogue of monster girls and horrific situations for the protagonist. Rape, blood, transformation, corruption, hypnotism, egg-laying and whatever other niche fetish someone is desperate to have attention applied to. Never being harmed or changed so much that they can't escape from one situation and land unfortunately in the next.
There's lots of way to do it.
