So I'm reading this book on serial killers...
It basically describes famous, real-life psychos and all the sick shit they did to people...their supposed motives, and what-not.
And as I'm reading about all the horrible things that were done...it's not fazing me. At all. It doesn't really disgust me or shock me anymore. In fact, I find it sort of fascinating.
I still feel terrible for the innocent victims, but as far as the whole "shock value" aspect of all the gory details, it just doesn't bother me.
Anyone else feel this way?
I think that's just about all of us, actually...
Yeah. I own many books about serial killers. My favourite is The Encyclopedia of Serial Killers which goes into the psychology of it too. The details don't so much go over my head as that I'm just not phased by it at all at this point...
you're becoming desensitized. it happened/is happening to all of us.
If you're not desensitized already it makes me wonder what you're doing Gurochan, unless you stick purely to the text boards.

Hey, I have this book aswell. It's really nice. I also own a lot of autobiographies by serial killers. But most of them boil down to "I had a horrible childhood, I am crazy, I'm not responisble baaaaaww". Kind of disappointed.
Serial Killers: the Method and Madness of Monsters is good as well and focuses entirely on the psychology of the killers.
