I just started reading 'Battle Royale' the other day and I love it! I was wondering if you guys know of any other violent or mind-fucking books? The kind that you read and find yourself taken a~back by thinking, "What the...fuck?!"

I just want to read some trippy ass shit! :D
I heard 'A Clockwork Orange' was good.
Any others? :)

"The girl next door" by Jack Ketchum and of course "American Psycho" by Bret Easton Ellis.

While it's not exactly what you are looking for, The History of Murder by Colin Wilson is a very good case study into how and why mankind is driven to kill. Lists murderers from the Caesars through to 1990s. Not only does he list (fairly detailed) what people did, but he goes into the basic pathology into the why of what they did. Very interesting read.

Otherwise, I'm going to suggest Haunted by Chuck Palahniuk. Nicely fucked up book that is partly based on several (mostly) true stories.

Battle Royale is a manga, isn't it? Bradherley’s Coach is pretty good, the people in Kotonoha and Omanga has just finished their scanlation

It was a book before it was adapted into a manga/movie. It was pretty good too.

BR is a novel, manga and film, there's slight differences in each one, and a couple of special edition films out with extra scenes but.. all worth watching/reading.

Last Exit to Brooklyn and The Room by Hubert Selby Jr. and 120 Days of Sodom by the Marquis de Sade. Very brutal. And yes, A Clockwork Orange is a very good book.

I read the Battle Royale manga and I really disliked it (though it was predictable and boring, blah blah etc.), and I hated the artstyle. I'll read the book later if I can find it somewhere, hope the book is better...

Anyway, if you liked the plot of BR "Lord of the Flies" and Stephen King's "The Running Man" are pretty similiar. I also recommend "1984", I really liked the end (spoiler?) where the hero gets tortured and then completely destroyed by his own fear.
