having seen the video (looks quite real) I got curious weather it is really real and decided to try to google it to no avail.
So I am not convinced...

The movie is quite old, though. And I don't think they would have gone to jail, since she died from some sort of shock and not abuse.

No, it's not just hearsay. In fact, it is as old as the internet itself. You might find something if you search for the keywords: japanese/rape/death. Once again, most japanese movies involves rape, so it will be even more harder to find.
But yes, i've watched it (long time ago), but at the time i was not even into guro, so i just deleted. (long... long... ago).
