Gurochan's existence... (57)

1 Name: Anonymous : 2008-06-28 20:24 [Del]

Actually feels like a freehaven. Typically at most chans you ahve people runnign amock and they just aren't the best places in the world to go to. Not too mention the lack of actual guro to entice someone into guro is definitely not enough.

Here the mods aren't pompous elitists like at most boards and places. Not too mention everyone here generally feels the same with minor dissenting opinions. It just feels like everyone here is a friend and is suffering from one thing or another. I'd go as far to say this is a support board. There really isn' much negativity between people here, except for minor occasions.

I just wanted to say that Gurochan is awesome, not just because of the content, but the users as well. Thanks for making this a great place to chill guys.

2 Name: Miu : 2008-06-28 21:15 [Del]

I would have to agree with you. That's why I prefer this over other chans. :]

3 Name: Anonymous : 2008-06-29 00:15 [Del]

Thats probably because the mods AREN'T pompous elitists - they're guro fans just like the rest of us. We're almost all friendly here - Really, whats the point of being all 'GO DIE YOU @)&%@)' when death, dismemberment, disembowlment, suffering, and pain are the order of the day? Not much complaining here either (which I ADORE) because, lets be honest, even on the worst day of your life, you're doing a helluva lot better than say, one of tsepesi's girls, am I right? ^_^

Gosh. Makes me wish everyone on the planet loved guro as much as I. Maybe it'd be a better place.

4 Name: Anonymous : 2008-06-29 05:20 [Del]

I doubt it'd be a better place, >>3.

This is a fantastic *chan and has a lot of great content and people though :).

5 Name: Pi-Tec : 2008-06-29 06:08 [Del]

Actually... this is the only 'chan I visit. I love the community, because I feel at home among these cute fappers. :3

6 Name: Anonymous : 2008-07-02 12:57 [Del]

I totally agree. Stumbled upon this place a month ago (half a year ago I didn't even know that guro exists), liked some stuff. The thing is, I kept expecting the denizens to be raving psychos, but, after reading a lot of /dis/, you people seem way saner and more intelligent then the average 4channer :).

7 Name: Anonymous : 2008-07-03 17:11 [Del]

I think the reason why everyone is so nice is because the content is so extreme that only fans will bother going here. There are a thousand other places online that won't make a troll vomit. I know some people that are giant /b/tards and even they can't stand this place.

8 Name: Anonymous : 2008-07-03 21:22 [Del]

>>7

I think it's just that we concentrate more on other things such as content and our sexual and even artistic gratification rather than trolling each other.

9 Name: Pure : 2008-07-03 22:50 [Del]

Yah, I like it here. :3 It's like home! [aside from all the gore and dying loli~s but that's okay!]

10 Name: Anonymous : 2008-07-03 23:56 [Del]

I think it's because there are no /b/ or /v/ boards.

11 Name: Once Beautiful : 2008-07-04 01:54 [Del]

>>10 and our /s/ is quite different than the normal /s/

but I agree that no /b/ makes a huge difference.

12 Name: Pi-Tec : 2008-07-04 05:18 [Del]

And this is why we have no room for furries. I like quality yiff, but I type the word "fur" into google and 40% of the results are furries. Also, since furries are a far greater and more popular community than i.e. /g/+/f/ together, it's much more differentiated, resulting in flaming and trolling. That would obviously ruin GUROchan.

13 Name: !mFK66iWE8c : 2008-07-05 18:43 [Del]

i agree with everyone here. i think GUROchan is a great place. instead of having only a board we have a whole *chan for ourselves, witch gives us our room and it keeps ignorant asses out. i myself am a /b/tard and yes, we are a bunch of raving idiots. i like it here more because it is much calmer(save the occasional blood-curtailing scream). so thanks to everyone for keeping this haven going.

How untrue is that.

They aren't. Quite the opposite actually. But they know how to behave, mostly, which overall makes this a nice and relaxed place to be.

The only thing i find annoying is that many people don't know the phrase "When in Rome, do as romans do". Gurochan has changed a lot the last couple of month's, and I'm frankly not very happy with that. Hopefully, it will change back to how it used to be when summers over.

16 Name: Anonymous : 2008-07-07 16:38 [Del]

>>15
I've only started going on Gurochan in the last few weeks or so, and I keep hearing about people talking about how they like the "old Gurochan" better and that there's too many shitty changes.

Anyone care to explain the differences between "old Gurochan" and the current?

17 Name: Anonymous : 2008-07-07 19:05 [Del]

>>16
There are none. Some people just insist on wearing rose-colored glasses when reminiscing.

18 Name: Anonymous : 2008-07-08 01:13 [Del]

>>16
Gurochan was once a lot more serious than it is today. Try looking at /f/ as an example. Only about half of the content in there is what i consider "freakshow" material.
Hands? Paintings of cats? Give me a break. It looks more like bizarre random board.
People originally came there to fap, now it feels like the majority of posters are 14 year old girls on safari.
Quality is declining. Too many new people set their own rules when they come in numbers like these. This also means that the pace has gone up a lot, which might be a good thing.
But overall, quality is declining and it's a lot less serious.

19 Name: Anonymous : 2008-07-08 07:09 [Del]

>>18
"Gurochan" is dying. Just give up and leave like the rest of the oldfags.

20 Name: Anonymous : 2008-07-08 07:17 [Del]

>>16

The 'old' Gurochan had more content and less drama.
People were less retarded and more willing to listen to opinions.
The userbase is still here if you're wondering.
People just don't post as much, as getting into a discussion with a troll isn't the most interesting of things in the world.
And as we all know the internet is of course serious business, heh.

21 Name: Pi-Tec : 2008-07-08 13:57 [Del]

Gurochan is not only a fapboard, but also an artboard. Guro is about grotesque. Well yes, those cat's are just plainly bizarre IMO, but the hands thread is not bad at all. However, I do find a lot of lame or misposted content nowdays. Still, the great drama over the differences between the 2 years earlier Gurochan and the present one is not all that much of a contrast. Summer frees lurkers of the burden of tomorrow, especially students of all ages, and they decide to add some stuff without thinking. Others just want to vent by trolling. Shit happens.

22 Name: Anonymous : 2008-07-08 14:27 [Del]

>>21
Yes hopefully it will end when summers over. Its just that everytime someone makes a new thread it pushes another one out. And if that thread is utter shit, and the last thread might be good... Thats very sad.

26 Name: Martin : 2008-07-09 05:58 [Del]

With 7Chan deleting most of its fun sections, one might expect more here. My 'but' is that Gurochan is almost exclusively hetero. Probably fine with most, but don't forget, one out of 20 people is gay, and probably a lot more are bisexual.
They have to pass hundreds of pictures before they will find one that's to their taste. You'd expect one out of 20, or even one out of 10 pictures to be catering to different tastes.
And when there is one, the abuse! It seems almost that everything must be hetero unless there's a decree that it's tolerated.
No one wants to drastically change content, of course, but wouldn't some variety be nice? Or is there but one sexual taste, and that's it? Not in my world. I haven't been hurt looking at straight pictures, some of which I enjoy. Surely others will not be hurt when there is something 'different'.

I think a lot of the images posted here serve as fapping material to the artists - The artist creates what he/she is attracted to/likes to see. It's human nature. If 1 in 20 random people are gay, it might be a WHOLE lot less for Guro Artists. If you're not getting content adequate to meet your requirements, I'd suggest you pick up a new hobby - drawing - and create the content you're lacking.

It takes forever to get good though. I don't think I'll ever get really good, but oh well. There's no requirement on /kaki/ for the pictures to be of professional quality ;)

28 Name: feindflug : 2008-07-09 09:01 [Del]

>>26 Mh, there are at least 3 yaoi-guro threads in /g/ right now. Some requests on the /req/ board and none of them is critized or flamed. (And when there's a trolling attempt, it's usually ignored)
I don't say you won't get flamed when posting yaoi in a "Girls getting gutted" - but really, then you asked for it...

29 Name: Anonymous : 2008-07-09 10:57 [Del]

People posting requests where they don't belong because /req/ blows and specific boards usually get more replies, trolling retards invading boards because of summer holidays and the flawed RL education system, irrelevant threads and ad spam once in a while.

Nothing dramaworthy or even unusual unless you are a fresh newcomer trying to look like an old regular.

There's plenty of gayness, just around 20%, and in such quality that even I browse them. Still not seeing it? Well, that's what happens when you let your BF fuck your eyesockets too hard!

31 Name: Martin : 2008-07-10 05:32 [Del]

As for angrybrain's response: I did post some of my artwork here, and got loads of abuse. (so I took if off) Look at some of the posts: you are a fuckin' faggot, a dirty queer. So much for tolerance.
Why always "go somewhere else if you don't like what you see" whenever there's an attempt at constructive criticism?
It is a way of silencing anyone who dares speak up.
No, there isn't "plenty of gayness" around here, Pi-Tec, or I wouldn't raise the subject.

32 Name: Anonymous : 2008-07-10 05:44 [Del]

There used to be a /boy/ board on deathchan, but deathchan appears to be gone now...

33 Name: Anonymous : 2008-07-10 08:48 [Del]

A lot of the new people don't have any tolerance. They post what they want, and the flame what they don't want.

34 Name: Anonymous : 2008-07-10 09:01 [Del]

I guess there are more than just 20% of gayness.
I'd say 80% of the stuff posted has a gay tendence. I mean, no offense to the heteros around, but fapping to females getting punched in the middle face is kind homo if you ask me, plus saving those pictures just for as an "art" is even more gayer.

Once again, I believe that doesn't mean everyone around here is gay.

35 Name: Anonymous : 2008-07-10 09:04 [Del]

>No, there isn't "plenty of gayness" around here.

...It's not like there is something wrong with it, right?

36 Name: Anonymous : 2008-07-10 10:46 [Del]

> fapping to females getting punched in the middle face is kind homo

... Your idea of "homo" is wrong and immature. In this case "homo" means "same", as in 2 people of the same sex. Please if you're underage, just act like a grownup. Otherwise, please leave.

Despite the content, gurochan still gets a load of cross-visits from other -chans. Most just lurk, but some do post, and thats probably what you saw (unless you were posting wrong (each pic in its own thread), on the wrong board (/f/ in /g/ or /s/ in /f/), or non-applicable content (cute and fluffy anywhere on gurochan)).

If you're willing to obey the trolls, then honestly - you probably won't make it too far in the online world. Those silly trolls are everywhere!

Post your stuff (make sure its on /kaki/, and make sure its at least anime-styled. If its too good for /kaki/ people will let you know. Probably by tossing your pics over to /g/ or /f/ or /s/ lol). Those who like will say nothing, or post positive comments. Those who don't like, but still clicked on the picture to see the full view, are retards and their comments should fall on deaf ears. Best thing you can do is develop a thicker skin :P

In case you hadn't noticed, a lot of girls come here too.
This chan isn't exactly exclusively hetero, you can post what you want as long as it pertains to guro and people have learnt that not everything is going to be to their tastes, so they just move on in most cases.
It's not exactly a big deal to see something you don't like here or anywhere else, the point is that you keep looking for something you do and don't cry about it.
People here have generally been known to not moan about what they don't want to see. It's just new people here that seem to.

If you're looking for exclusively gay guro, check out http://community.livejournal.com/shounen_guro

Also, be sure to look in the old /req/ for other content you might be interested in.

Back to the original topic... newbies coming in doesn't harm a board. They'll learn eventually, and everyone has to start somewhere. What harms a board is when the veterans leave, because a great deal of what makes the board what it is leaves with them.
STICK AROUND!
Also, the communities that survive adversity are the ones that pull together and fight. With enough spirit you can get through anything.

Take over? They've been here all the time, in fact they were the original population. Right now its underageb& newfags thats taking over the place. Although, i agree that that i wouldn't wanna see gurochan filled with the new /b/-tards or anything of the like. They are just as horrible as the underageb& newfags in here.

Wait a sec... i see a connection.
