I have split personality disorder - ask me anything. (26)

I have split personality disorder. I will try and explain this as clearly as possible. I have three personalities; Me (Emily- not my real name of course), Harold, and Susan. I may be a little disjointed because currently Harold is here. It's hard to think coherently when communicating with him. Harold and I can communicate. It's like being in a room (my body) and asking someone else to come in, but he can't fully be here or in control until I leave.

Let me tell you about myself (I'm Emily). I'm pretty normal. Nerdy, I study hard, I'm not into guro or anything of the like though I'm not here to judge anyone. Harold is very different from me. He comes here a lot. He is a sexual devaint. He views himself as a man (we have a female body), he is very creative, erratic, strange, social, and I guess "suave" would be the right word. As far as I know I can't communicate with Susan at all. I've never heard her thoughts or anything, and I cant consciously call her to inhabit our body. With Harold I can do that. It's basically like "hey you wannat take over for a while?" "sure!" But Harold is a pleasure seeker, he is more than happy to let me be in control most of the time. I work and go to school, I clean the house, neither Susan or Harold do that. Lol.

Susan has only recently discovered my existence. We have been writing notes to each other on my computer. As weird as Harold is, he is no where near as troubling as Susan. She is also the one that my doctors spend the most time with. Recently she has been cutting, excessively drinking, writing about killing herself. She has a lot of mental disorders that I am Harold do not have. She is anorexic and has VERY low self esteem. She has no friends. She is awkward as hell around everyone, she even dresses like a old woman. Knowing she has spd probably makes her feel more insane than she already does but I know she is appreciative of me. I am always cleaning up after her. I'm basically her mother or babysitter. Not that she is a problem, just that I have to deal with the scars she leaves, the vomit and blood stains, stuff she tells people online, ect ect.

So if you have any questions about my particular situation go a head and ask. It's a weird thing, very different from most people, however I still consider myself to live a good life. I think I am very lucky. I've left a note to Susan about this thread, she may drop by to answer questions from her perspective as well. I doubt Harold will write anything but who knows. He is more of a lurker.

I can't tell if this is trolling or not. If not, it's great that you're open about yourself and whatnot, but the context of starting a thread about it as a center of discussion seems pretty... self-centered.

Having multiple personalities is not as colourful as fiction leads you to believe.

I have split personality disorder. I will try and explain this as clearly as possible. I have two personalities; Me and Tyler. I may be a little disjointed because currently Tyler is here. It's hard to think coherently when communicating with him. Harold and I can communicate. It's like being in a room (my body) and asking someone else to come in, but he can't fully be here or in control until I leave.

Let me tell you about myself (I'm Jack). I'm pretty normal. Quiet, I attend group therapy, I'm not into guro or anything of the like though I'm not here to judge anyone. Tyler is very different from me. He comes here a lot. He is a sexual deviant. He is very creative, erratic, strange, social, and leader of project mayhem.

don't you think forming a new personality to deal with emotional pain is futile in the long run because it's still just yourself, and you're able to deal with whatever troubles you have as a single person.

Well, I don't know if this is a real honest self centered topic of discussion or if you're just bullshitting/trolling what have you,
but I enjoy reading (fiction or non) so long as it appeals to my tastes,
I wouldn't mind talking with you, or all three of you -
and while I'm usually a non-believer(in most intangible things),
I'll just give you the benefit of the doubt either for politeness or to amuse the both(the four) of us.
;] Feel free to talk to me any time!
I also think this would be interesting for my blog:

as lond as these both personalities are not ging to kill that shared body I dont see any problems.

Of course scars ans womit is serious problem, and you should leave a note to hes asking to stip that, or else...

anyway of that another personality want sot die so much then visit psychiatrist and ask him to kill that personality.

Also, people with DID (Dissociative Identity Disorder, formally known as Multiple Personality Disorder) rarely know that they have it, and it usually only becomes apparent after a year or more of therapy. There is little to no crossover between the personalities, and, each believes themselves to be the only person inhabiting the body.

Decent troll, but do some clinical research next time.

Science will always find something wrong with you. If you don't have DID, they'll just come up with a new disease for people who mistakenly think they have DID.

Psychology isn't a tangible science, and I've given up on the prospect of it being one.
