Well, there are 3 GUTS OF A ... movies. The first one has a monster killing off the crew of an erotic photo shoot, the second has someone mutate into a skinless freak due to some yakuza drug and the third one is about a "female inquisitor" who tortures women and men to get information, but not really in bloody/gory ways.

Anything specific you're looking for? Guro covers a lot of ground ... Your best bet would be looking for MANIAX or BONDAGE GAME. Those are easily the nastiest animes ever made. But even hentai classics like UROTSUKIDOJI feature plenty of violent sex that results in guts and gore. Make sure to check out ELFEN LIED. Another suggestion would be COUNTDOWN: KURENAI, which was never released in the USA, and for a reason. It's about a lonely guy who cuts out a girl's eye and fucks her skull. It's out on DVD (with no subtitles) in Germany. A friend and I are planning to do an English subtitled version of it eventually.

Only animes with cannibalism scenes that I can think of right now are the above-mentioned BONDAGE GAME and VIOLENCE JACK: EVIL TOWN. But with EVIL TOWN you have to be extremely careful, because almost all versions of it have been cut and censored, including the US and UK releases from Manga Video. The Italian, French and Japanese DVDs are uncut, though.

But that site is of no use anyway, because the DVD is no longer available. I could post some screenshots of KURENAI, I guess. There's also a manga of that story, which has been translated into English by Eros Comix in the late 90ies. Don't expect the anime to be extremely explicit. It's more artistic than outright gory but that's what makes it so beautiful and disturbing in my opinion.

SIN CITY was OK and indeed very violent. But it was filmed in black and white and very stylized so the gore had no impact on me. I liked the first episode best, by the way. And I'm definitely looking forward to the sequel(s).

I've just watched AFTERMATH on the new DVD. If necrophilia is your thing, I doubt that movies about the subject get any better. Nacho Cerda, the director, puts a stunning level of technical proficiency into this film. It's beautifully shot, composed and - even though there is no dialogue of all - written. There's enough subtext to keep the arthouse fans happy (if they have the stomach for this) and enough gore and desperate corpse-humping to put a smile on the faces of us sick fucks.

Thanks for the information! Sounds like it could be a great film if they don't try to tone it down. There certainly are a few things that worry me. Not least of which is that the film was originally set to be directed by Hiroyuki Nasu, who was responsible for the live-action DEVILMAN movie, truly one of the worst films ever made; and that is before taking into account that it raped Nagai's masterpiece in more ways than a hentai artist could think of. On the other hand, the casting of idols is not really anything surprising or new for a Japanese genre film. It happens all the time, just that Western viewers are mostly not familiar with the girls before they see them in a movie. Now, if Kadena and Irie have big roles in the film that require them to do a lot of emoting then we may very well be doomed. But if they just have small parts - and of Irie happens to be the loli who meets the scissors - then everything should be alright.

yeah you can watch them on your PC if you have a hacked DVD-drive or use software like DVDRegionFree. dvd-rom drives also have region codes when you buy them so you have to get rid of that first. after that, PAL and so on won't be a problem

Actually you can find SNUFF REELS and the harakiri videos on YAJ but if they are put up by a seller they are always hidden away in the adult section. True but the gore is not extreme and you have to get through endless boring scenes with just talking and bloodless action just to get to a few seconds worth of halfway decent stuff.
