hello. new to GUROchan but and like it. have some quesions:
(1) does the term "chan" refer (as it seems) to the style of the board?
(2) if so, is there a forum like this dedicated to loli (perhaps an extension or something /lol/)?

Question Mark, I've heard it has to do with the fact that the Japanese find childlike innocence attractive. I'm not sure if this is true or not, but I wish they would stop with the whole loli thing because it makes me feel dirty when I'm looking for porn.

2chan (futaba) got their name from 2ch (ni chaneru), and was probably trying to get initial traffic to their domain that way. 4chan (yotsuba), which was the first English image board, based their name on 2chan's.

True QuestionMark, I read the "Do you accept your fetish?" thread and though about it once again. i REALLY think its source is the same as that for gore, scat... never see it in real life. sure, maybe you can see a baby in real life but you know that their sexuality is not the same as in YOUR real life... so it's really something impossible. Once that it's a fantasy, we can make it even better with lolicon perfect characters, soo sweet and tender.
I personally have another reason: i like the distress that gore/death/mutilation cause in my imagination and also experience a feeling of arousal when think of other people being distressed. I also attain the same gratification with the images of bizarre,exaggerated fantastical innocence when carried at its peek in loli/pantsu/etc.....
2chan (better known as Futaba) got its name from 2ch which originally stands for 2channel, thus signifying the strong bond othe image board to its roots, Japan's biggest internet forum, 2channel (http://www.2ch.net)
Everybody else from then just copied that suffix, although it should be noted that this behaviour of naming is only rampant on western image boards.
