Does anyone know of any good guro/eroguro/scat/freakshow mangas and where I can buy them online? English text is preferred, but I don't really care that much, although the site really does need to be in english. thanks.
Mr Arashi's Amazing Freakshow, and Ultra-Gash Inferno, by Suehiro Maruo are both available on Amazon.com. Both are great books. You can also get Jun Hayami's Beauty Labyrinth of Razors on there too.
Anything by Junko Mizuno should do the trick for the freakshow part. A little loli, though. For some reason, her art is not considered guro but more like gosurori, and thus is about as available in bookstores as regular manga.
I like Senno Knife for freak show. His really odd stuff isn't translated though.
www.amazon.co.jp
I order my copies from there.. they have waita uziga manga as well :o
I got my copy of Game Over from animenation.com :) They have a couple other things (like Overflow, which is really good, but it's the untranslated version)
>>For some reason, her art is not considered guro but more like gosurori
?? mizuno's style isn't gosurori at all...that's more mitsukaz(u) mihara's territory
Hey hellmonkey, thanks for giving me the name of another gosu artist n.n checks Google
You can't get Hayami's Beauty Labyrinth of Razors from amazon or from anywhere else because it hasn't been published yet. They keep delaying it. It's now penicilled in for early 2006 but don't hold your breath.
For out-of-print guro mangas that you can no longer get from amazon.co.jp I suggest you search on http://auctions.yahoo.co.jp/. Of coursel you'll have to go through a bidding service like http://www.celga.com to actually purchase anything there.
And if you are lucky you can sometimes find guro stuff at http://www.jpqueen.com . They've had some Uziga and Saizo in the past. Always sells really quickly, though, so better hurry if you find something.
Hey, folks! Just found something new that could pass for freakshow. A new manga called "Bizenghast" by M. Alice LeGrow. Although the manga takes place in America (Massachusetts, to be exact), the art style is strongly influenced by Japanese gosurori (the artist herself is a fan of it!). It's on tokyopop.com in the manga player section. It had a great ad where the girl was combing her hair...while headless!
