So... why is there no more 4chan guro board? Don't get me wrong, this place is awesome, I'm just curious.

I believe the excuse given was that it didn't generate enough traffic. That and the fact that a lot of people in the "anime nerd community" (of which I am not a member) really, really seem to hate "guro." It disappeared around the same time they had to get some sort of support to stay alive, maybe the party giving the support didn't approve of gore/scat. They've removed their pedo boards as well, though they kept links up to a site that still has that. Guess the illustrated pedophile stuff has a special niche in their hearts.

I think it also has to do with the terms of thier hosting, and the terms of the people that put the ads on their site.
My guess is that their was nothing clearly against guro, but not wanting to upset the sponsers grouped with the lack of traffic pretty much did the board in, I think.

Nope.

age :o

I was in the secret 4chan admin room the night it was deleted. What happened was that toddlerkon was posted to /l/, and I asked whether it should be deleted, and there was a sudden consensus, out of the blue, from all the admins, that 4chan was getting too disgusting. When Snacks deleted /l/, moot told him to remove /g/ as well. There wasn't a clear reason for it, but hopefully you get the general idea.

Does it really matter if that's the same Shii who runs shii.org?
He gave us a plausible explanation and he isn't blatantly trolling.

That's what Leibniz did too, and he failed.
